What is a centrifugal pump and how does it work?

A centrifugal pump is a fluid dynamics device that uses the mechanical energy supplied by an electric motor to move a fluid. Its operating principle is based on the centrifugal effect generated by the rotation of an impeller, aed wheel that draws the liquid from the center (axial suction) and pushes it towards the periphery (radial or tangential discharge).
